The time issue experienced on my ESX server has resolved by following details in the following VMware article:- http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=1436 Once /etc/sysconfig/clock was changed with the correct values, and /etc/localtime was replaced with the correct timezone file, all started working.
When altering time synchronisation on ESX, be careful that time on the VM’s is not changed. When running in a domain environment, this can cause Kerberos timestamp issues which can bring down the domain.
